Edna Wallace, M.A., M.F.T. Intern joined Susan Hennings’ practice in February 2007. Under Susan’s supervision, Edna provides psychotherapy to individuals and couples. Edna is a member of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists) and ACME (Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment).

Over the past three years, Edna has worked under Peter Pearson of the Couples Institute at his popular “Coming From Your Heart” Workshops. Here she’s gained experience coaching couples in the Bader/Pearson developmental model for couples. She also has a background in Marriage Enrichment and, along with her husband, has been an active part of this organization for 20 years. Click here for a video demonstration of Edna and her partner "dialoguing" (a powerful communication tool for couples).

From the enrichment model, Edna brings practical skills into her work, such as training in basic communication and listening skills and conflict resolution. Lastly, Edna welcomes working with individuals and couples choosing to follow an alternative lifestyle (e.g., polyamory or BDSM — bondage, domination/submission, sado-masochism).

Edna is currently leading a Women's Sexuality Group with MFT intern Leslie Davidson, M.A.. Women benefit from and enjoy the group atmosphere and begin to get much more comfortable and fluent talking about sex. Please call either Edna or Leslie for more information (408-296-0966).

In addition to her private practice internship with Susan, Edna works in the psychiatric unit at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. Here, she works with older adult patients struggling with life transitions, patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and psychosis. She is also working at the SC County Suicide and Crisis Hotline, providing telephone support to suicidal clients and people in crisis.

Edna has also worked at Pathways Hospice, counseling clients for grief and loss, and at the Center for Healthy Development (CHD), counseling adults, teens, and children and running groups addressing high-conflict divorce and domestic violence.

Edna earned her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and is a registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (IMF #51423) earning clinical hours toward licensure. As an intern, Edna offers lower-fee counseling with a sliding scale if necessary. She offers reduced-fee services with availability in early-morning or some evening hours.

Edna was a technical writer for many years before pursuing her career as a therapist and still offers writing as a therapeutic tool for clients.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Edna anytime on her confidential message phone: (408) 296-0966. You may also contact Susan directly for further information about Edna’s practice.
